Covered bridges of Colorado — a different breed than the East and Midwest's 19th-century truss spans. Colorado never developed a historic covered-bridge tradition, but a handful of 20th-century covered spans have become beloved local landmarks, from the iconic 1965 Covered Bridge gateway to Vail Village to a memorial footbridge over Clear Creek.
