Porter-Parsonfield Covered Bridge
Porter, Oxford County. Built 1859, 160 ft over the Ossipee River. Built jointly by the towns of Porter and Parsonfield.

The Porter-Parsonfield Covered Bridge spans the Ossipee River between the towns of Porter and Parsonsfield in western Maine. It was built jointly by the two towns and uses a Paddleford truss strengthened with laminated arches. Because the towns could not agree on roofing materials, the two portions of the bridge were shingled differently. It was closed to traffic in 1960 and is now maintained by the state. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
