Hemlock Covered Bridge crosses an old channel of the Saco River, sometimes called the Old Course, near Fryeburg Center in Oxford County, Maine. Built in 1857, it uses a Paddleford truss that was later reinforced with supplemental arches for added strength. The 109 foot span was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970. It has been documented by engineering surveys as a fine example of the Paddleford truss form. The bridge remains a well preserved rural landmark.
