Ashtabula County in the northeast corner of the state has 19 covered bridges, more than any other Ohio county, and hosts a covered bridge festival every October. Ohio bridge builders used a wider range of trusses than most states. Multiple kingpost trusses are the most common here, but you will also find Town lattice, Howe and two designs that are largely Ohio specialties: the Smith truss, sold by the Smith Bridge Company of Toledo, and the rare Childs truss, which survives mostly in Preble County.
Each listing below includes the truss type, length, status and directions.
