Howe Truss
The Owens Covered Bridge is the last remaining covered bridge in Polk County, Iowa. Built with a Howe truss, it originally carried a rural road before being relocated to Easter Lake Park to save it from reservoir flooding. It now crosses Yeader Creek and serves as a pedestrian bridge on the park's trail system. The bridge is not listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
