The New Salem Covered Bridge crosses Grove Creek near Commerce in Jackson County, Georgia. Built in 1915, the 47 foot span uses a multiple king post truss. It was constructed by W.M. Thomas and served a rural community crossing. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It remains a preserved example of early twentieth century timber bridge building in north Georgia.
