The Rowell Covered Bridge crosses the Contoocook River at West Hopkinton. Built in 1853, it is a Long truss about 160 feet long and one of New Hampshire's surviving 19th-century covered bridges. Named for the Rowell family of the area, it remains open to vehicular traffic over the broad, slow river.
