The Mechanic Street Covered Bridge carries Mechanic Street over the Israel River in Lancaster, and is also known as the Israels River Covered Bridge. Built in 1862, it is a Paddleford truss about 94 feet long, with a clear span of roughly 79 feet and an unusually wide 19-foot roadway.
One of New Hampshire's surviving 19th-century covered bridges, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains open to traffic near the center of Lancaster.
