Martin Covered Bridge
Historic bridge in Marshfield that inspired the AM Foster replica
Visit: This 45-foot queenpost truss bridge crosses the Winooski River in Marshfield. Originally named Martin Bridge, later called Orton Barn when the Orton family owned it, now back to Martin Bridge. Parking: Limited roadside. Photo Tip: Morning light best. Cool Fact: This bridge's design was so admired it was replicated for the AM Foster Bridge 98 years later. Nearby: Marshfield Village Store (great sandwiches). Note: Private bridge - no vehicle traffic allowed, but visible from road. Perfect example of classic Vermont covered bridge architecture.
