Little Mountain Covered Bridge

Little Mountain Covered Bridge sits on Trout Lake Farms Road in the Trout Lake Valley of Klickitat County, in the shadow of Mount Adams in the Columbia River Gorge region. Built in 1987 on a Queenpost truss, the 60-foot span crosses the White Salmon River and is also known locally as the Farmgate Homestead Bridge or Trout Lake Farm Covered Bridge, names tied to the private farm property it sits on.

The bridge's farm-style design fits naturally into the pastoral character of the Trout Lake Valley, which has long been an agricultural pocket at the base of Mount Adams. Surrounded by wildflower meadows with the mountain often visible in the background, the privately owned bridge isn't generally open for close visits, but is easily photographed from a roadside pull-off — a quiet, picturesque stop for travelers passing through on their way toward the surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
