Carrollton Covered Bridge

Barbour County. Built 1856, 141 ft over the Buckhannon River. Reconstructed in 2022 after a 2019 arson fire.

The Carrollton Covered Bridge crosses the Buckhannon River at Carrollton in Barbour County, West Virginia. Built in 1856, it is one of the longer historic covered bridges in the state at about 141 feet. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. After it was damaged by an arson fire in 2019, the structure was reconstructed and reopened in 2022. It carries local traffic across the river.
