The Stark Covered Bridge spans the Upper Ammonoosuc River in the village of Stark, framing a classic New England scene beside the white Union Church against the backdrop of Devil's Slide cliff. Built in 1862, it is originally a two-span Paddleford truss about 151 feet long. In 1890 a spring freshet tore away the center pier and carried the bridge downstream, where it was snagged on debris and later hauled back and reset on rebuilt abutments.

Painted bright white and decorated with pendant finials, it is maintained by the town as a historic structure and remains open to traffic.
