The Pier Railroad Bridge, also called the Chandler Station Bridge, crosses the Sugar River in western Newport about a half mile east of the former Chandler railroad station. Built in 1907 to carry the Boston and Maine Railroad, it is a two-span structure 216 feet 7 inches long, with clear spans of about 103 and 98 feet meeting at a central pier. Its trusses combine Town-style lattice with Pratt trusses, resting on granite abutments capped with concrete.

The railroad line was abandoned, and the bridge now carries the multi-use Sugar River Trail. It is one of only a small number of surviving covered railroad bridges in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
