Construction of the Netcher Road Bridge began in 1998 and was completed in 1999, funded by an ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) Timber Grant. The bridge was designed by John Smolen Jr. and opened to traffic in 1999. The bridge features a unique neo-Victorian design with timber arch construction combined with inverted Haupt walls, a truss design rarely seen in covered bridges.
