History of Mount Pleasant Covered Bridge
Constructed in 1918 by L.M. Wentzel during World War I, Mount Pleasant Covered Bridge may have been built using wood to conserve metal for the war effort. Recent renovation work included new concrete abutments.
Architecture and Design
The bridge is notable for using a Kingpost Truss design, one of the simplest truss systems. It measures 60 feet in length and approximately 17 feet 9 inches in width.

Mount Pleasant Covered Bridge is located on Township Route 304 (Mount Pleasant Road), just south of Route 274. Visitors may occasionally see Amish wagons crossing the bridge.
