Cold River (McDermott) Covered Bridge
Langdon, over the Cold River near Crane Brook Road. Built 1869, 86 ft. long. Also called the McDermott Bridge; Town lattice with a laminated arch, NRHP listed.
The Cold River Bridge, also known as the McDermott Bridge, spans the Cold River near Crane Brook Road in Langdon. Built in 1869, it is one of New Hampshire's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges. The structure is a single-span modified Town lattice truss reinforced by a laminated arch, roughly 86 feet long and about 16 feet wide, set on stone abutments. It was built by Albert S. Granger, the same bridgewright responsible for the nearby Prentiss Bridge.
The bridge is now limited to foot traffic and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
