History of Bistline Covered Bridge
Constructed around 1871 by an unknown builder, Bistline Covered Bridge served the local farming community and nearby Flickinger's Mill. The bridge was reinforced with steel I-beams in 1919 and underwent a major refurbishment in 2007. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Architecture and Design
The bridge employs a Burr Arch Truss design with Burr arches sandwiched between multiple kingposts. It measures 96 feet in length and approximately 17 feet in width, with an interior height of 11 feet 7 inches.
